Any tips on what to do when your weight loss slows down or stops? I

joined WW where I work. During the first 11 week program I lost 17

pounds. Now that the second 11 week program has started it seems that

my weight loss has stalled.

Last week I was upset when my leader told me that I had gained .4

pounds. I had never gained any week that I was on the program. I was

sitting and sulking while listening to the conversations going on around

me when I bumped my key ring that was hooked on my belt loop. I jumped

up and immediately demanded a recount ( or re-weigh in this case). I am

careful every week to make sure that I don't have anything extra on me

when I weigh in. On the second weigh in I was even with the week

before. This week I was exactly the same again.

I only have around 10 pounds to go. I would like some suggestions to

help jump start my weight loss again. Yes, I am drinking all my water.

Yes, I am staying on program. I'm lucky if I use 10 flex points a week.

No, I don't really exercise. But I'm on my feet all day at work and do

a lot of walking.

Any ideas?

Pam

Eat more. Ten flex points a week may not be enough for you. Try upping your

points and also try varying them from day to day. So do 20 one day, 26 the

next, 22 the next day, and just skip around. Or try eating low for the work

week and then have a big splurge day with 10 or more of your flex points on

the weekend. Do you eat all your veggies? If not try to get them all in, if

you do them maybe try some new foods that you aren't used to eating.

Hi Pam,

First of all, Congratulations on all that you have lost! Now that you are so

close to goal, you will start slowing down because that is what most of our

bodies do. Our bodies are afraid to give in and lose those last few pounds.

Mainly, I think you need to mix it up a little and be sure to stay OP,

eventually your body will give in and lose those last few pounds. I have a Word

Document that is all about Plateaus and I will send it into the group.

Great job on your weight loss so far!!

First off I would try and double check portion size, as we are OP for a long

time, it's easy to get out of the habit of meauring our foods exactly. Maybe

try to do that for a week and see what happens to the scale. The other thing

may be that your not eating enough and your body is doing the starvation mode.

So you could try to up the points. Also yes you may walk alot at work, but your

body is use to that walking since it's done everyday. My DH walks around 6+

miles a day (walking from warehouse to warehouse all day long) and it does not

bother him a bit.......lol......if I walked that I would not be able to move

when I got home and I would be sore. But his body is use to it and it does not

bother him at all......so that means his body is not using that as 'excersise'

and he needs to workout even though he walks a ton six days a week.

So glad you decided to come to us instead of throwing in the towel!! Please let

us know next week what the scale says and what you did different. I am hoping

that someone will post who was on Plateau for a long time......I was thinking

that someone here was......was it Diane L?? Or do I have the wrong person??

Maybe you could look in the archives of the site and do a search for Plateau??

There were some wonderful posts for that.

Hugs,

Moe
