Hi everybody,

>I simply cannot afford to go back and forth to Mexico for band adjustments

Poor Denny,

How can people be so rude ! If I were you, I would call Dr Fox office in

Seattle (perhaps some WA Bandsters can mail you his phone-No.) and ask him

1) if he knows someone near you

2) if he can do your adjustments (at least it's not as far as Mexico).

And I'm pretty sure, reading the messages from people in Seattle, that you will

be treated well there. And you deserve it !!!

Keep your chin up ! Those rude people simply don't know what you're going

through.

Dear Denny,

As my doctor goes to a lot of international congresses about obesity and/or

gastroplasty, I just called him to ask if he knew somebody in Winnipeg or

anywhere else in Canada. His secretary told me that she has seen an

international list once.

He or his secretary won't be able to call me back before tomorrow afternoon.

I'll let you know ...

Hi Everyone!!!

I've been very lax in responding to your posts so I'm going to try to lump my

responses together. I deleted all my old e-mails so I'm going to try to do

this from memory. Please forgive me if I forget anyone. I have a terrible

memory!

Jessie,

Thanx so much for your kind words. You sound like your doing fantastic!! If

I ever hit the 160's I'll feel like a damn supermodel! congratulations on

your success!

Marina (my twin sister)

I always noticed that we had our operations around the same time and were

neck and neck with our weight . My plateau lasted so long I was really

beginning to get really frustrated. I had an adjustment on 2/19/99 ( first

one since last summer). They told me at the Feb. adjustment that I had almost

no restiction whatsoever. They gave me around 3cc and it definitely helped. I

dropped about 6 lbs. over the next month but it was still very slow. Last

week I went on an almost all protein and dropped about 5lbs. in one week. It

really works!! If you want more details I'll be happy to give them to you.

Thankyou for all encouragement and support.

Liz,

I'm glad to hear you're doing so well with your adjustment. I spoke to Kim

about us possibly getting together for dinner one Sunday. Sounds great! I

miss my roomate!

Denny,

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles you're having about finding a Dr. to do

your adjustments. I could swear I heard about a Dr. in Canada that does the

surgery. It was about a year ago and I could be wrong. Did you ever think of

going to a surgeon that does the RNY or stapling procedure and ask them if

they could help you? I know they just opened a lapband center on on Long

Island, NY. I know it's still far but it's closer then Mexico. You could

come visit me while you're here! I hope you can get this issue resolved.

Has anyone talked to or ? I'm so sorry they signed off

because of one person.

Well I really have to start working now so I'll talk to everyone soon. Take

care.

Love,

Tina

Hi All:

I went today to see a surgeon about doing the adjustments on my band. He

basically threw me out of the office saying something to the effect that if

I want to lose weight, don't eat so much. So when I got home I phoned

another surgeon - this time I decided to talk to his nurse rather than

wasting time waiting for the next available appointment. She point blank

told me that he wouldn't be interested and if I wanted an appointment, I

would have to wait until August. My surgery is scheduled for May 21, and I

simply cannot afford to go back and forth to Mexico for band adjustments.

I am mortified. My mother phoned and tried to talk me out of it - she says

if the operation is so good, why isn't it being done in Canada? " I don't

know " , is my answer. What do you think I should do? I'm desperate. My

light at the end of the tunnel is running out of electricity because people

are so negative.

Please write soon......Denny

Denny

try getting in contact with Obtech and see what they advise. Alternatively,

you can use the internet to identify a Surgeon/Doctor in Canada who

specialises in obesity.

There are some on this list who are advised by their surgeons to wait 4

months before having their first fill...so even if you don't find somebody

in Canada to do the fills for you prior to operation you would still be

losing weight just because you had the band in place.

Good luck!
