Guest guest Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Hi all, I haven't posted in quite awhile but have been reading many posts. I did my 7th of 8 treatments today; the last 4 are Taxol. Considering everything, I am doing quite well. I was surprised and dismayed that the oncologist told me that my liver numbers for ALP, AST, and ALT levels showed a dramatic increase after my 1st Taxol treatment. This was from a blood test taken 2 weeks after the first Taxol. The oncologist believes that the increased levels are from the Taxol and he will monitor them, saying that he believes they will decrease and normalize after treatment. I, on the other hand, am very concerned and worried. I'm trying to research but haven't had much luck yet. My question is: Has anyone else had their liver function tests show elevations from any of the chemo drugs? If so, what did your oncologist do/recommend? Should I be asking for more testing? Believe what he says? Any advice or shared experience would be GREATLY appreciated. Janet B. Quote
