The thing is whether you tell the doctor or not about taking your own Armour,

your labs will be different due to that fact. Lying is not going to get you more

Amour. In this instance you are more likely to get Armour by telling them the

truth so they know why your TSH looks suppressed.

Yep, I've thought of the Timbuktoo thing, too. I have a new endo

visit on the 13th and I was thinking of telling him I was prescribed

Armour - maybe I'd have a better chance of this new endo prescribing

it for me. This will be my first time - since I was 12- seeing an

endo. After listening to all your stories on here, I'm not sure

he'll be any better than my gp.

I'll probably just tell him the truth, though. I stopped adding

armour to my synthroid this week - just to get ready for my endo

visit. When he draws my blood I want it to show just the .175

synthroid I'm taking.

Now I'm having some aching under my ribcage, towards the back - is

that my adrenals?

for enough Armour to feel good on no matter what you do or don;t

tell them! LOL That is sad but ask any of use that have been to

umpteen doctors! I have been to over 30 for this disease and it's

various symptoms, and the only doctors that would even give me

Armour were ones I insisted on it from. These doctors I lied and

said my last doctor in Timbuktoo gave me this and I want to stay on

this as I FEEL good, and I would tell them I was on about a grain

more than I actually was... That way if they gave me a script for it

I would have enough extra to actually go up if I needed to. The most

any doctor ever gave me was 4.5 grains a day... I am now up to 6

grains a day PLUS Cytomel. I would kiss any doctor's feet if they

would actually give me a script for this without a constant hassle.

I would not go off of my natural thyroid for anything, including a doctor,

insurance, etc.....We live in such mortal fear. Granted, when it comes to

an MRI, other testing that is way beyond my means of testing, I'm going to

be at a loss and would have to depend on the mercies of a decent doctor's

orders, but regular routine thyroid testing doesn't take a rocket scientist

or a doctor at all, as long as you have other people or yourself to figure

out what it all means.

If they're not doing the Frees testing, then it is pointless, as one can't

use those old ancient testing guides to increase their thyroid hormone. A

lot of them will not order the newer more modern testing, only the old

stuff.

I didn't catch it all, was taking care of the pups and making coffee, but on our

local this morning they were talking about people getting drugs from Mexico. I

think this is to scare us. A man did say that they are probably 95% true drugs,

but do we want to take the chance? Well, if he will admit to 95%, I wonder if

they are not more like 99%? Is it any different in this country (USA), I

wonder!

Amazing that this came on the news just days after I told my Dr's nurse that I

will be self medicating and getting my meds from Mexico if I have to.

Yes! I'm afraid to tell doctors that for the same reason. I'd much

prefer to switch doctors and then say " I am on 45 mgs of armour, but

feel like I need an increase " and that's it. No lie, and no

disclosure, either.
