You have every right to be angry! That is ridiculous! I can't believe this is happening to you! I would definitely appeal too. Smart that you have documented the conversation. It really stinks that nobody will give you their last name anymore these days. It is so easy to turn around and say " we don't have anyone by that name " if you only have a first name. Some companies record their conversations though so if you have the date and the time you might want to ask them about it.

I will be keeping my fingers crossed that they will make things right for you!
