Guest guest
Hello, I use to post on here quite a bit some time ago because at one time I was told I had fibroids and it turned out that I never had them...I had trouble for years . Then I finally went to a doctor and they found a 6cm complex mass on my ovary and my ca125 came back at 79 and I was terrified and was even more terrified of the surgery itself ..so I went into surgery scared to death when I came out I found out I had severe endo no fibroids and the thing on my ovary turned out to be the endo has fused my bowel to my ovary the endo was everywhere inside of me to a horrfic extent and They found out I was a diabetic also .I had no symptoms of endo all these years all I had was the heavy heavy bleeding ..If I had it to do over again I would be on that table again in a heart beat I don't know how I survived as long as I did with the bleeding, and the surgery was a whiz , here is a website I found before I had my surgery you are anyone else needs surgery this is a great place to go to you won't be sorry...there is all kinds of help there and a lot of answers to a lot of questions,,it is called www hystersisters.com I hope this will be of some help to you..good luck Kathy -- Full hysterectomy at 42 - pros/cons?? Hi Folks, Sorry to repost this question, but nobody has answered so far, and it looks as though I'll be going under the knife within days rather than weeks, so I'd really like to get some advice ASAP. A little background: I've been diagnosed with " multiple small uterine fibroids " (up to 2.1 cm), and a " large complex adnexal mass (11cm X 11cm X 11cm) requiring further evaluation " . My CAT scan is scheduled for TODAY (the benefits of socialized medicine!). I do strongly suspect that the " mass " is an ovarian cyst (as I have a history of such), which will need to be removed. My GP has suggested that I might want to have a full hysterectomy. I have no objections to doing so in regards to childbearing (do not want children), but would like to know further info on the health risks associated with a full hysterectomy at age 42. Since I've never had anything but trouble from my uterus/ovaries, I'm inclined to just yank 'em out, but I really think I ought to consider the risks/benefits logically first. Any info and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks,
Guest guest
Dear , I have not had a hysterectomy, so i cannot respond from experience although i have read many books and info on the web that discusses the considerations to address when contemplating hysterectomy. i have heard there can be emotional and physical changes after hysterectomy. I would search on " Google " for hysterectomy and you will get tons of information regarding the pros and cons. Good Luck. Full hysterectomy at 42 - pros/cons??
