Guest guest
Hi, I was in your boat and couldn't find a surgeon in IN so I went to Louisville, KY and got great care. (Last Aug.) I was a bad bleeder too. Your hubby wants to take you to the ER, mine wanted to hide. <laughing> Bleeding... Anything that distorts the uterus can cause excess bledding because your uterus can't stop the bleeding correctly. The many tiny blood vessels just stay open. Fibroids that are inside the cavity of the uterus (intracavitary myomas) will usually cause bleeding between periods (metrorrhagia) and often cause severe cramping. Fortunately, these fibroids can usually be easily removed by a method called " hysteroscopic resection, " which can be done through the cervix without the need for an incision. Submucous myomas are partially in the cavity and partially in the wall of the uterus. They too can cause heavy menstrual periods (menorrhagia), well as bleeding between periods. Some of these can also be removed by hysteroscopic resection. If you are bleeding like this, you need to be checked for anemia! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, anemia can be very dangerous, it can damage your organs and it can kill. Slow FE iron taken with vitamin C for absorption and eating high iron food will cure anemia. After anemia gets so bad, a diet change alone won't be enough. Anemia caused me a untold amount of grief and trips to the ER. Your regular MD can check this by a simple blood test usually in the office. This is very important. My doctor in Louisville: Maher Abdallah MD Norton Heathcare Pavillion www.kyinfertility.com/surgical.shtml email: louisv@... He is a RE and does several myomectomies a week. He's had no problems thus far and says it's easy sugery for him to do. <laughing, he's the one holding the knife> For a UAE, you'd need someone else. Welcome to the group and good luck! Check out the anemia!
