Guest guest Posted October 28, 2004 Report Share Posted October 28, 2004 Tonia, I have heard of many people taking Mehtadone for pain but I do not believe it should be used for a pain medication. The reason I feel that way is because it is used in clinics to wean people off of drugs like Crack, Cocaine, and Heroin. My doctor told me that Methadone is worse for you than most pain medications because you cant have it increased the way other meds can. He also told me that Methadone shuts off certain receptors in your brain so that the drug or drugs arent affective. I confirmed that with my pharmacist. My pharmacist even added that if you are on other drugs, it can lesson the affects of them too. Thats my warning on this subject. I hope you can get a better pain medication.
