Rhonda,

Sorry, but I have a real hard time believing what your doctor says about methadone. I have never had better results than with the methadone! I do not get high at all, and can function much better, and also have been increased three times on it! My phamacist also told me that it is very common now for use with chronic pain and has very good results! My mother has told my doctor and even today told another friend of ours that suffers from MS that I do extremely well on the methadone and it does not play with my mind and attitude like all the other pain meds did! Just so you know I have been on oxy, vicaden, percocets, hydrocodene, codene #3, and the pain patches, and also have had pain injections in the ER, and also morpine IV. Everyone has either made me a complete loopy mess or did nothing at all for me!!! Methadone has been wonderful and all my other meds including blood pressure are working just fine!!! My pharmacist told

me not to tell anyone that I am taking it, because druggies love it, but also told me it is great for pain and is becoming very popular for patients with chronic pain, because it helps much better!! I do not mean to sound nasty, but I really do not believe what your pharmacist or doctor say and I think they need to get some more info, because I have an incredible pain doc and neurologist!!! They both come very high rated and both teach!! Once again I am very sorry, but just do not believe that at all. Please send me documentation if you have it, I would like to know more if what you say has been proven!!! LOL and Best Wishes to You!

Tonia, I have heard of many people taking Mehtadone for pain but I do not believe it should be used for a pain medication. The reason I feel that way is because it is used in clinics to wean people off of drugs like Crack, Cocaine, and Heroin. My doctor told me that Methadone is worse for you than most pain medications because you cant have it increased the way other meds can. He also told me that Methadone shuts off certain receptors in your brain so that the drug or drugs arent affective. I confirmed that with my pharmacist. My pharmacist even added that if you are on other drugs, it can lesson the affects of them too. Thats my warning on this subject. I hope you can get a better pain medication.Sincerely,Rhonda> I went and seen my pain doctor on Thursday....and asked him to raise the> dose on my Methadone From 10 mg every 6 hours.
