Guest guest
Hi Alice, I just tried putting protein powder in the shake I had this morning. Waiting to see how it does. I will have to wait for a trip to the food store before trying the recipes. I will let you know how it goes. Keeping my fingers crossed. :-) So you are the one who recommended Dr Korson! You and Malissa, who also is a patient of Dr Korson. He is a very good doctor and very caring and conscientious. Unfortunately, he is totally overwhelmed with the amount of patients he has. I feel bad for him. I don't know how he does it and keeps his sense of humor at the same time. The Director of their Metabolic Department just retired. They knew about it for a year, and still when she left in August, they had no replacement for her. Dr Korson has had to take on 180 of her patients in addition to his own. He had too many patients already and I doubt he is taking any more. He is supposed to be getting another physician to help in January, but orignially it was supposed to be September and they moved it back. YOur grandson is also sick with Mito, Alice? I am SO sorry to hear that. How many people in your family are affected? I have three children. One has behavior that I identify as preserving energy, just like I have done. I think he may end up with the diagnosis. Another child had ITP for two years, but has been okay for the past 3 years. One child seems perfectly healthy. I haven't had a biopsy yet, as Dr Korson said it could wait, that we should focus on what we could do to get me to a better place first. I couldn't have traveled any way. But I hope to have it, to help identify something that could help my kids know if they could have it or not. Thanks again Alice...I will let you know how things are going. :-) Adam > No thanks are necessary. This is why we are here and I'm very sure that your day will come when you can offer just as much if not more assistance to someone else. I do hope that the food ideas help and I'll be anxious to read your reports on your attempts with great anticipation that you are finding that some of the suggestions worked. Sometimes, it's easier for someone looking in from the outside to come up with ideas that could help. The real job is your attempting them and a good result is certainly the desired goal. > > I'm glad you are seeing Dr Korson and actually think I was the one who recommended him to you. I soundly believe that his interception in Branden's (my grandson) care a few years ago saved his life and I'll always be grateful for his willingness to help Branden's pediatrician when she contacted him. He is a fine doctor and in your area, you cannot do better. I'm from RI but no longer live in New England but if I did, he would be my doctor of choice there. Please tell us all about your appointment that is coming up soon. > > Yummy - the yogurt shake sounds delicious and a great idea. Yogurt is very good for us. I hope you enjoyed it. Hopefully, some of these ideas will help you to feel better so that you can come to your computer more often and be a part of this great family that really cares. > > Now - Sleep Study - Sounds like a must do to me. > > Have a great day! > > Alice > >
