Lipoma

I have suspected that the swelling was part of the problem since it appeared

right after the first implant was done on that side. You have no idea how much

I hope that removal will solve the issue on the right and I can get useful sound

from that implant. This is so big and so swollen and the problem with the

implant on that side is so severe that I think it's not just a coincidence that

they are both on the same side and so close. I've been worrying about this for

quite some time but haven't had support for my worries until I saw the new

endocrinologist on Thursday. I guess it took a New England girl to really look

at it . She's from CT and worked at Yale New Haven Hospital before having her

own CT practice. A family move to New Mexico brought her here and I am really

glad she had to make that move.

Thanks for your ever present support.

Alice

Dear Alice,

Maybe that lipoma is the cause of some of your problems, and you will

get some relief from its removal.

Please don't forget what I learned from my vet and close friend, Dr.

Pat. Our most beloved Afghan had one on his side, but since it never

seemed to bother him, we left it alone. She cautioned that they are very

tricky to remove because they have an extremely robust blood supply. I'd

ask the doctor if human lipomas are the same. I'll bet they are.

Good luck!

Alice, said to tell you that he suggests that you expect that it

will hurt for a bit. I guess his hurt him after removal for a bit! LOL I think

it is cute he wanted to give you some advice! He thinks he is an expert

having had 3 of them removed I guess! LOL Good luck and try to get some rest

while you recover!

Dear Alice

I strongly second Laurie's advice that a neurosurgeon, perhaps assisted

by your ENT, remove that lipoma. It is lying over very sensitive areas,

as you well know.

I hope its removal might solve some of your CI problems on that side.

I would not let a general surgeon touch that, and I suspect that an

ethical one would not wish to do this surgery.

Good luck!
