Guest guest
I live in a town with few Rheumys who will take my medicare. My husband just took another job (again) and our new insurance will start in 3 months. It will be one of the worst HMO's you can get and I think they only have a couple of Rheumys. That is if they let me past the gatekeeper to see one. Oh well, if the kill me, my troubles are over. Cheryl in CA -- Re: To Cheryl: What is a Rheumy For !! FIRE THE BUM!!!!! I just do not have patience with doctors who do not do their job. I believe our Mike is the one who says we should write the newspapers when a doctor is so obviously not doing the job. Make his live miserable!!! Hmmm just my thoughts, but some of you have some real quacks and I feel for you. I am blessed that I have a GP who is great and his PA is also a very sharp lady. She is the one that first found the problem with my blood work and got the referral to the Rhuemy. The Rhuemy is really patient, listens to everything and is progressing cautiously, which is a good thing but sure gets me going sometimes. barb My Rheumy acts like he never heard of rashes with lupus. He won't give me pain meds. He wants my internist to take care of that stuff. He prescribes celebrex and plaquinile and that's all. He says nothing about my hurting legs and feet. They tingle, feel numb, have pins and needles and sting. The muscles always hurt and my foot bones kill me. He just looks and says: "I don't know". I am getting meds for that from my internist.
