Guest guest
Hi Jerri, I haven't heard of Dercum's disease, but my husband (who doesn't have lupus) has lipomas. It is hereditary - his father had them as well. They aren't cancerous or dangerous, but they do drive him nuts. Sometimes he gets some that are deep or that are in a place that rubs against a nerve or gets bumped frequently. He has probably had 30 or more of them removed over the past 5 years or so. They just keep coming. I have watched the surgery and they are basically encapsulated fat. If they're all painful, maybe you have something else and should get a second opinion. I've never heard of this in conjunction with lupus, but you never know. Good luck, Tana
