Guest guest
> I think GERD is a more serious form of Acid Reflux. One can have an episode of acid reflux but if it happens on an ongoing basis then damage occurs and it goes from an incident to a disorder. I remember a friend of mine was told that sinus problems could be related to GERD and I was puzzled too. > Robin Absolutely correct. " Heartburn " is basically an incident of acid refulx. The distinction is when they label it either as GERD or as Acid Reflux Disease. Single or sporadic episodes may be unpleasant, but they are not a problem. It becomes a problem when it turns into a chronic situation with regular, repeating incidents. Over time, the acid goes from just irritating the esophogeal lining to causing actual damage.
