Re:Banded more than once...

Hi -

My DD will have to wear two bands. This was not due to a poor fit on the

first band, but because she outgrew the first band before treatment was

over. She started out with severe brachy (101% cephalic index - 5 standard

deviations from norm). After her first band she is now down to 3 standard

deviations (I think it is like 89% cephalic index). We decided to go for a

second band based on the therapist's recommendation, the fact that her

flattening is still visible, and insurance will cover it.

Ok, now this makes WAY more sense to me!!! I thought everyone was

being banded several months after being out of the last band. But,

it is all the same treatment period, just a different

band/helmet!!! Gosh, I was getting so worried that something was

wrong if every 6 months, the child was needing another band/helmet

but that is not the case!!! Thanks for everyone who has

responded... these sites are so helpful!!!!!!!!! : )
