Conference Goers - A Must Read

Thanks for the info, Ken. Yes - we have held very nice Mitoldies get get

togethers at each conference and I've managed to put them together being a

distance away, but I won't be at this conference and Laurie has been actively

working on the silent auction for months and needs to spent the time wrapping it

all up for show time now so she shouldn't be trying to work on the get together.

Someone needs to come forward and say that they will make all the arrangements

but first the group needs to know how many are really interested in this.

Everyone will need to be prepared to order and pay for their own meals as of

course as we don't have a Mitoldies budget. Bringing in Pizza or subs seems to

be a good solution and a room set aside to do this would be ideal of possible

but if not, I think that the group is small enough to meet in someone's room.

Does anyone have the energy to do this? The time is getting rather short now so

we need to solve this today. Are you planning to attend a Thursday night get

together? Will you offer to be in charge?

I'm hoping to attend but it isn't a done deal yet.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to get involved in making the

arrangements for the Thursday get together. I'm still working on

bringing things together for an appeal re: a disability pension

denial. (I use the time when the " brain-fog " has lifted to compile

more data)

It could take quite a bit time and some money (for phone calls) to

bring this together

I found the info on the hotel site itself. They apparently have a

number of meeting rooms that can accommodate 30, 500, and more.

A couple of things to consider: (1) the pizza shop closes at 8:00pm

(2) could the on site pizza shop handle a mass order of pizzas?

(3) there should be a set number of people who make a definite

committment to being there - before hotel management are approached

with a request for a meeting room, etc.

Whoever will look after this should call the hotel management and

explain what is being planned, what will be needed (room size, number

of tables & chairs etc.) and will the hotel be willing to provide it?
