Guest guest
Thank you to Bonnie for passing info from another list regarding the Yahoo spam notices and email attachments. Yahoo has installed SpamGuard to the lists. It is an optional list setting, but Yahoo automatically set the default to ON. They did not bother to notify the list owners and moderators, of course! The filter can be turned off, but ONLY by the list owner. Moderators may not change the group settings. I am a mere moderator, so I can't do anything about it. I don't know if Beth is a moderator or owner so she may or may not be able to change things. If Beth can't change it, we are stuck with these attachments and bogus spam warnings from Yahoo until Jill returns. For anyone who owns other lists on Yahoogroups, here is how to turn off the filter. ----------------------------------- I'm noticing various messages being marked as 'spam' (plus being converted to an attachment) by Yahoogroups when they're not spam. List Owners/Moderators, you need to go under Management-->Group Settings-->Messages-->Posting and Archives. Edit the Posting Options to the far right. Under the column for SpamGuard, please, *please* turn this off. For Yahoo mail users, legitimate discussion and fanfic posts are going under bulk/junk mail.
