Guest guest
First, a bit of bad news: I have to take BACK to our opthamologist this afternoon. He welded in our garage last night for awhile (but has a really NICE welding hat), and came in with red skin on his face and arms and his eyes red and burning. This morning, his eyes are still swollen and red, and his face appears " sunburned " . I am concerned about his eyes, so am taking him to have it checked. Can't be too careful. Welding can do permanent damage if there's even so much as a scratch on the welding hat's lens so tiny you cannot even detect it. Good news: I have been asked to go to Abby's school this afternoon and present a social studies lesson on The Henry Ford Museum!!! I am thrilled, and need to get off here and finish my preparation. I intend to tie it in with Black History Month and the American Industrial Revolution. My lesson today is " One Person Can Make A Difference: Have You Made A Difference Today? " It feels so wonderful to be invited back into the classroom, if even for only one lesson as a guest speaker. When the teacher invited me the other night at Open House (it's Public School Week here in TX), my face must have lit up...because looked at me and smiled...and said, " Mom, I think you'd have volunteered to mop the floors, too, if they'd let you. The smell of chalk dust definitely does something for you! " He's right! Love, ~LoneStarRose~ (~~)
