Guest guest
Hi all. I don't know if this has been brought up or not, as I have been reading posts, but not able to answer many. I have decided to attend the conference, if health cooperates, and called the shuttle service from the airport, that UMDF suggested, just to get some information. I was given a new number for the desk, 1-. The lady had the original September date of the conference, in her computer. I let her know the other dates and said that there would be more than just me and my wheelchair that needed transportation. She didn't take my name at that time, but did tell me to call back one to two days before I arrived so they could make sure they had an accessible vehicle ready. She did mention that I might want to let others know about this as well. I am sure many of you probably would have called anyway, but if you are going to need to transport a wheelchair, call a day in advance. This way, they can decide how many accessible vehicles to have ready, as they don't always have many out. This will just help transition. She wasn't aware that anyone may have a scooter or wheelchair. I don't know how many will, but know there are a few of you in the group who will be using yours!
