Guest guest
My daughter was wondering if there is a type of lazer surgery that can be done for stretch marks. She certainly isn't going to get this done - she's only 15. But, she wants to know. She says maybe when she's older, she'll want to do it. She has so many stretch marks, and it really hurts when she's getting a new one. I didn't put that pain together with her stretch marks until Cindy told us about Dylan's. I only got stretch marks when I was pregnant, and only a few then. I don't remember it hurting. I don't know how lazer surgery would work either if she has EDS. I assume there isn't scaring like in normal surgery. has never had surgery, so we don't know if she scars. She's only got one scar, from falling on a rose bush when she was small. It's half way down her back. It looks like a normal scar to me. She puts that stretch mark lotion on every day. But, it doesn't seem to help. It makes her feel better to try. Are stretch marks an EDS thing? This may have been answered before, but if it was, I forgot. My other daughter has what the dr calls bat ears. They stick out. We were gonna get them fixed when she was about 12, but she was too scared when she heard the dr tell how it's done. She thought she would be able to hear him cutting. Now that she's 17, she wants to get them fixed. All they do is cut behind the ear, and somehow tie them down so they look normal. The dr who was gonna do it years ago said she doesn't even need to be put under with general anesthesia. But, what I'm wondering is - has anyone gotten any cosmetic surgery? I'm not talking face lift or anything real drastic. The ear surgery is relatively minor, I think. She has had 2 oral surgeries, shoulder pinning, and her lung surgery, and didn't have any major problems, except for pain control. We still don't have the dx, but the vascular type is a bit of a concern. I don't know if she should do this or not. It would really make her feel more confident. But, is it worth the risk? Would there be any risk? (besides the obvious regular risks?)
