Relax and enjoy the quiet. Rest, treat yourself to something special like a

good book and think positive thoughts. It has been many years since I sent

my boys off to camp, but they loved it. My youngest who cried like Krissy,

actually choose to wait two more years to drive, as camp was more important

than drivers training. They didn't go to MDA camp, but have been to several

different camps over their childhood years. They will call you if things

aren't going well. I remember how hard it was. I always had this big list of

things that I would get done and then just wandered around the quiet house

not knowing what to do. I usually read several books and never got to the

chores. This is your time as well as theirs. I'm sure the camp wouldn't mind

a phone call to the director after a couple of days to give you peace of

mind.

I was a camp counselor for 5 summers and many old timers would cry when

parents left and the minute they were gone, they were organizing the other

kids to do things. I know nothing we say is going to make it any easier, but

you will survive, just as they will. Just think of this as practice time for

retirement.

Hugs,

laurie

HUGS UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY! I freak whenever April goes to camp as well.

Of course, hers is a regular church camp, and they know NOTHING about mito

:/. Anyway, just to ease your mind, is there anyway you can call and

check on your crew just to see how they are doing? Not necessarily talk to

the kids themselves, but like, one of their counselors? It sounds like the

kids have wonderful counselors, who are well versed in their individual

conditions. That is a good thing! Btw the first night is hardest for the

moms too!
