Guest guest
Sharon, I would suggest you have a MRI of the shoulder if it doesn't feel better soon. Sincerely, S. Damb Shoulder AGAIN :-< Yes my Right (RSD) shoulder (the one that had the Thermal shrinkage etc done in August 2001) has dislocated (BIG TIME) again. On Tuesday morning (YES in my Sleep) I dislocated my shoulder and woke in Awful pain and unable to move my arm, I was not sure it was back properly as it felt so VERY odd and PAINFUL and I couldn't use my arm properly. When I looked in the mirror my arm/shoulder seemed to be sitting very high (up colse to my ear). I had massgae that day but the therapist was USELESS 9or worse) I asked him to work lightly on the muscles in my arm, neck, upper back, chest and shoulder etc as they seemed to have gone into spasm and I explained to him AGAIN that I have RSD and am VERY sensitive in this arm and that I had dislocated it that morning, all during the massage I had to tell him what to do and to put less pressure on my skin etc. This did help to relieve some of the spasm in the muscles etc and a little of my pain. The Next Day (Wednesday) at lunch time I had my weekly Osteopath appointment and I tolf him what had happened the mroning before and asked him if the shoulder was back in properly as I was concerned, he flet all about and said NO. It turns out that my shoulder had been OUT (subluxed or dislocated I do not know) for more than 24 hrs and to make matter worse it went out in a way that I did not think was possible (it was out anteriorly and superiorly (i.e it went out the front and the UP) I thought the acromion etc stopped this ??), the Osteo got it back in after about 1/2 hr and told me I had to keep it immobilised for at LEAST 48 hours or until the pain subsided, he thinks that due to my thermal shrinkage I have either goen out " between " the tendons or have simply pushed through and tore/ danaged the ligaments and tendons etc. SO I guess I am back to square one :-<. This is one of the MOST painful dislocations I have EVER had and am thinking that if by Monday it is NO better I will have to go for X- Rays and test to make sure I didn't do serious damage. I am in the immobilsier about 22-23 hours a day (I take it off to keep my elbow etc moving) and find that if it is NOT supported when out of the immobilser it hurts SO bad (even my 160mg MsContin + Codiene liquid isn't touching it) and even in the immobiliser it is hurting a LOT mainly in the frontof the capsule and down my bicep. Please forgive my typing as this is Left handed (eek). Any suggestions on what I can do to help would be greatly appreciated as I am SURE I have undone the surgery and done some serious damage to thid DARN shoulder :-<...
