Guest guest
Randie....thanks for making me sound way better than I am! I rejoined Tops last April after being out for about 10 years. I won't do that again! Believe me I would forget what I put in my mouth if I didn't write nit down when it goes on my plate or in my mouth! CRS...LOL I find a calorie chart to be too cumersome, that's why I started using my small spiral, it fits in most purses too. Yes, I use a book called "The NutriBase Complete Book Of Food Counts, my hubby bought it for me after I was diagnosed with diabetes. It is about 5x8 size and has over 700 pages with over 40,000 food products...brand names, generic, specialty, fast foods, and some chain restaurants! It lists carbs, cals, protien, sodium, cholesterol and fiber....it's wonderful!! I try to stay in the 1200 cal and 150 carb range a day. That is what my doc and nutritionist recommeded to stay healthy and possible lose some weight. Sometimes I'm a little over or under but still pretty close most days. I also journal my diabetic meds, my blood sugars, exercise and feelings for the day. nThis has really helped me so far. Sorry...I'll get off my soap box! Hugs, Re: Jeanette Hi Jeanette, I have a 5x7 spiral notebook that I use for my journal. I'm diabetic and I write EVERYTHING down....not becauser Iwas told to but because IWANT to! I carry my book around the kitchen with me as I'm preparing our meal....I write down what I plan on eating. If I get full and don't eat something or not all of something I adjust the cals and carb count accordingly. W will tell ya I carry my book whereever we go...even when we go to the doctorin Amarillo. Journanling DOES work. Good Luck!
