Janet,

Gerber Plan would not insure my kids because they were sick children.

Just thought you should know. i do agree though if you can find someone who

will insure a sick child, do it, because it is next to impossible to get

insurance for them as they progress. We tried to insure Kira at one year of age

with

no luck and then tried at 5 and then at nine all were denied due to her

having a possible terminal illness. It is frustrating for sure.

We have military life insurance but I just heard on the tv about globe life

insurance. It says that life insurance for a child can never be canceled. The

toll free number is .

I believe that Gerber also has a plan called the grow up plan. I received a few

brochures on this. The younger the child is the cheaper it is. They also offer

the chance to double the coverage I think. Like if you have $5000 worth you can

get $10000 at specific intervals.

The importance of getting a plan that can never be caneled is that if when your

child say is 25 and has a family of his or her own, if their symptoms are worse

or if for some reason they are " uninsurable " they will still have that

protection for there family.

There are lots of plans out there--a term plan vs a whole life plan is the

cheapest way to go. But, it is best to buy it now, fit it into your budget

because as you get older the cost will only increase because of your age.

Yes, that is the problem with even having the positive result of a test in

the medical records. Actually the only ones who know actually has

melas are us, his school, and his doctor. His test result is under his

middle name. Dr Tick actually suggested this and we paid for the test of

$500 ourselves. We are not trying to hide anything but besides the problem

with headaches and constipation he is just fine. I would hate to have him

denied life insurance when he needs it for his family just because of this.

He will probably live a long life even with this disease.

This is why I was suggesting the family plan. I sure wish we had known

before we had to pay sky high premiums for my older son. We were able to get

the family plan before my second son was born and eventually they included

my first son, because they took him off seizure meds at age two.

We had a small life insurance policy on our son that was set up

before he was born, but later he was turned down for additional

coverage after diagnosis. The good news is that once he was an adult

and had his own job, he was able to get additional life insurance

through work with no questions and no physical. I realize this

option hinges on being well enough to work as an adult, but in his

case this is possible. He has great health insurance and benefits as

a federal employee.
