It saddens me to hear of the death of the young and brave Mattie. As

an adult I have had this disease for 11 years, finally diagnosed this

year, and that without 100% clarity.

The children, it seems, suffer so much more, and the parents with

their own suffering and their childrens suffering are hit the hardest.

Mattie has been an inspiration in his short life, and if you have read

his poetry, then he must be playing with his other siblings that he

has missed so much.

I share with others the concern for his mother who has lost her last

child. She has been the more silent courage behind Mattie, I cannot

imagine losing one child , she has lost four. May

God be with her and I hope that her support remains and does not go

away now that Mattie is gone.

I fear that someday my children and/or grandchildren may be afflicted

with this, however I am hopeful that they will not. I pray for you

who do have little ones to care for.

Mattie had something special that got him through his everyday. Let

his heartsongs continue to remind us when we are down that if we are

still here, then we have a purpose.

Mattie will be missed. God bless his soul!

No one was hurt, except my poor car, and theirs got a " minor " dent! I was

glad that I at least didnt get a ticket! (they ran a stop sign).

Yeah my boyfriend is a sweetie. We get along really well.
