Guest guest
Chrissy - I'm really distressed to hear your news about the meeting with the WC doc, but I am far more concerned about how it effected you. It's okay to say that you wanted to kill yourself... to say that you felt that sad and hopeless. Please though, hon, remember that most often suicidal thoughts are a way of expressing how terribly awful we're feeling inside and how much we hate what's happening in our life at that moment. I would stand to bet that there isn't one person here (okay, maybe one) who hasn't had the thought of suicide cross their mind at least once in their lifetime. It's an absolutely horrible feeling to feel that depressed. Please lean on us as heavily as you need to as you sort all of this through. Clearly this doc didn't know what he was talking about....He as much as said so. Although I have never had to deal with it personally, all of this WC stuff sounds like it's a "jumping through hoops" contest and it's all set up in a manner to discourage people from seeking compensation for their injury. They intentionally hire docs who they know will side with them to avoid having to shell out money. Sometimes the system works and they manage to keep people back at work who should be back at work....or they accurately recognize someone as being unable to work. Many times, however, the system fails miserably. When it fails, it does not reflect the reality of someone's injury or their pain. It's a system and that's all that it is. Please don't give up. Do some extra good stuff for yourself and turn to those people that you know will be supportive and kind. Start with something as small as going out and buying the expensive brand of your favorite jam or preserves. When you get home, call a friend, esplain you need some extra support, tell them about your jam and invite them over for toast and coffee/tea. The important thing is to focus on anything and everything that gives you a reason to keep going. We're all here for you. Barbara

Hi Chrissy, looks like things might be looking up. Hope this doc works out. Hang in there. Love Jai
