Guest guest
Counld someone please explain to me the connection between mito mutation/disease and muscular dystrophy? Is MD always caused by a mito problem? Is a mito mutation considered muscular dystrohy if the symptoms are muscular? Also, two of my doctors disagree on pronounciation. One says mito with a long i, as in " mite " , another says mito with a short i, as in " mitt " . Isn't the first one correct or are both? Thanks. Guest guest
The I is long and the connection with MD is that Mito is a neuromuscular disease and this is the part of the disease that is covered under the umbrella of the MDA. Guest guest
Marjette During the chat on Monday night, I asked about Ehler Danlos was often seen with mito as in our family. The answer contained the information that along with mito, they are seeing some indication that other forms of MD are either causing the mito or the mito is causing another form of MD. This is something new to me. Just as Mattie had mito and was the MD good will ambassador because the mito is one of the 43 diseases covered by MDA. You might want to look at the link Alice send to get to " Mattie's Page " . It has some good information on this topic. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Wed, 23 Jun 2004 17:46:28 -0000 > To: > Subject: Mito/MD connection? > > Counld someone please explain to me the connection between mito > mutation/disease and muscular dystrophy?
