Guest guest
> Mike~~ Mine was to be other than trigger point. I have something funky going on with the ligaments that hold my butt to my back ... which is why my hips keep popping out ... will look it up and send you the facts. My doctor decided to wait after doing some manipulation first. Very conservative guy. > Will let you know... I would like to know what your opinion of my particular situation is. > > Debbi --------------------------- Just on the surface, this is more in keeping about what I said that there are some legitimate medical uses for it. (I won't even get into the whole cosmetic aspect since that is a conscious decision on the part of the person choosing to have the procedure done. I may not agree with it but there is at least some element of informed choice for using it on wrinkles.) My hang-up about using it on trigger points is that more often than not there is no informed choice on the part of the patient. If the patient is not already familiar with THERAPEUTIC massage and bodywork (as opposed to Spa Fluff and Buff stuff), they won't have a clue that less-invasive, manual therapies even exist. And all too frequently, neither does their doctor. Your comment about your doctor wanting to wait until after doing some manipulation first is intriguing. What kind of doctor? What kind of manipulation? More importantly, which ligaments and muscles are involved?
