Has anyone used either one and noticed any difference. If someone

actually has a Fatty oxidation problem, they're supposed to use the

pure mct/mead johnson version?

any experience or input. Good dried coconut can be mail ordered now

from a couple places without having to crack open and break the fruit

apart.

coconut always seemed to up the metabolism a little

I have been on MCT oil with very negative results, but I have severe

impairment in all fatty acid oxidation pathways (including medium-

chains), as well as a mito defect. MCT oil has been used without

much success in patients with defects in long-chain fatty acid

metabolism.

For further info on MCT oil, try this link.

Also note that at the bottom of this page next to the squiggly black

arrow, there are links to three other pages on the same site with

more info about MCT, including recommendations from Dr. Cohen and

surveys of patients who have tried MCT. There are also links to

external sites.

A more viable treatment using a different " oil " for fatty acid

disorders is being studied by Dr. Roe. For more info, check

out this link.
