Thanks so much, a!

And please accept my apology for not posting about all of your recent

and severe medical problems. But please know I have been praying for

you. If placing a tube is the best answer, I hope it will happen soon

for you.

Electrolyte problems can have awful repercussions, not to mention

fatigue and complete exhaustion.

Take care.

,

Don't worry about not replying to my posts. I know you have a

lot going on right now as well. I go to see the GI doctor on Thursday.

My family doctor, along with some help from a mito specialist, has

decided a g-tube would be best for me. The GI doctor, I guess, is the

final say. I am a little concerned, as, even though I am still eating

okay and can get down some fluids that have calories in them, I think I

am still losing weight. (My scale isn't to reliable at times, but it has

been consistent lately). I am eating foods that would normally make me

gain a lot of weight, so I don't think I am absorbing the food or the

fluids I do get in, right. My neurologist is also thinking that. I will

know more on Thursday.

Do your children and grandchildren live near you? Treasure these

precious times!

Smiles,

a

Dear a,

Sounds like your doctors are earnestly trying to solve your serious

digestive problem, and I hope the solution will come soon.

I am constantly having low magnesium, which the new GI doc discovered. I

think this had definitely added to the awful cramping problems. The endo

said this comes from the gastroparesis. However, I am getting awful

diarrhea just on 500 mgs--not good because I have to do alot of driving.

Also, could the last state be worse than the first? I think my

electrolyte problems are now worse.Ah, the twists and turns of mito.

This list is really amazing! I certainly don't usually tell my many

acquaintances in town that I have any health problems, nor do I discuss

this with most of my family....

(I still have to get back to Laurie's post on magnesium. Sorry for the

delay, Laurie!)

Thanks for asking, a, where my daughters live. lives an

hour south of us, in the Lehigh Valley, PA. Rose lives in New

Jersey, about 2.5 hours away. And if the traffic is heavy there, all

bets are off. I do wish they were closer.

Please keep us posted on your progress. I think most of us on Mitoldies

feel much worse when it is our younger---MUCH younger--members who

develop the many and nasty consequences of mito.

Please take care, a.

Love,
