I guess you are in the right place, I think that is probably true of a lot of the people on this list. I understand what you mean about having to avoid some things that 'remind you of your losses'. You can start a spiral into a deep dark hole if you start looking at your losses too long. :-) Most of the time I am able to focus on trying to improve and find a way to hold onto what I can still do.
