Do you feel like it is a good size for you or does it seem big? How are you feeling lately? Malisa

Kristie Message: 25 Date: Tue, 11 May 2004 19:45:30 -0500 Subject: Dehydration I have been struggling with dehydration issues for a long time, as some of you might know. It finally came to a head when I passed out at an Insta Care. They really took me seriously then! I had been telling my doctors about it for 6 months before that. That incident landed me in the hospital and I am still going to the ER for fluids every couple of days. My PCP decided that I do need a g-tube. One deciding factor was the loss of weight and how he saw me try to drink. He told me that I drink like a chicken! I'm not sure what that means LOL. My neurologist agrees. Now we just have to get the GI doctor on board! I have been researching g-tubes and thankfully Malisa has been great with me asking questions, but I was wondering if any of you have gone through this and if so, what kind do you have? At my MDA support group yesterday, a woman with ALS showed me hers and it is a button g-tube. I don't think that would work for me. I am just curious if any other people on the list have severe dehydration issues and if they have a g-tube. Smiles, a
Guest guest
Hi Malisa. Yes, it is a size 24. It is pretty big, but they were concerned about blockages because of all the meds so opted to go with a bigger bore. Like I said so far so good. I've only had two minor blocks and both I was able to get rid of myself. I'm doing pretty well at present. How about you? Are you feeling any better from the crash? I finally have a little bit of energy back. I am trying to find a job as a peds nurse that is only one to two days a week. You would think this would be easy, but it's actually pretty hard to find. Hopefully I will be able to find something that I like that won't be too strenuous for me. Glad you are doing well too! Malisa
