Lauire, As usual your I find your info VERY interesting. Wow, the

stress of long labours kicking your mito in to high gear FOR YOU

BOTH. What a terrible shame!

If mito damage can be caused by toxins, and we know that the

toxins given off by the Lyme spirochete are massive and

particularly virulent, it would seem to follow that perhaps my idea

of the Lyme organism " causing " a form of adult onset

non-genetic mito disease might not be too far off base.

Thanks,

Anita

I agree. They are already involved in the research on using CoQ10 for those

with Parkinson's. I think we are going to see a snowball effect in the next

few years. At least I have my fingers crossed that this will be true.

Hi Laurie,

This is a few days late, but did you and also feel like the pregnancy

itself put extra stress on your body? I have wanted to have kids for a long

time but just recently decided that it really may not be such a good idea for

my body. I have passed this by my mito doctor and he said that pregnancy in

mito patients can be similar to having 9 mths of acute insults to the body....he

said I may be so affected by it that I wouldn't recover or return to the

baseline I had before pregnancy. Just wondering if it was just the labor that

was

hard for you or if the whole pregnancy was difficult too.

I would have to say my whole pregnancy was hard. I knew that something

was very wrong by the time I had my daughter and so we decided not to

have any more kids both for my health and the possibility of passing it

on too. It is hard to take care of sick kids when you are sick

yourself. It is a very personal and hard decision to make and is

different for everyone, but that is what we did.
