Is your husband disabled too? You and your family are in my prayers, I feel like I know you, and the kids after reading so much! You guys sound like such a nice family, I hope and pray that you get what you need. Do you have a lot of meds to buy each month? If so maybe you could get samples from your doc till things get straightened out. Love Jai
Guest guest
I'm actually hoping to get them back this week..... All I need is the Farmer that Gene is working for, to write out a paper stating that Gene is working for him during the Month of October, how much he's going to Gross during the Month....sign the stupid paper, hand it to me, and I can mail it back to the Case worker (or Drive it over to her which will get it to her quicker)......and, We'll get it all back. IF the Guy will get his head back out of his own buttcrack for air and do it!!! I told him that I needed it by last Friday.....and I'm STILL waiting. So, Tomorrow I'm going to remind Gene to remind that I need that paper again.....and if that doesn't work, I'll ask Gene which Field they are in, and I'll go talk to him myself next time! I'm bound and determined that I'll have that paper before this Friday!!! Especially because I need to have another block done, and those things cost between $5000-$6000 each, and there is no way I can afford to pay for it out of pocket, because where I go, you have to have one totally paid for before they will allow you to have another one done. The Hospital is so picky about that. If it was up to my doctor, he wouldn't really care. If you don't have insurance, he'll accept $25 payment if you pay when you walk in to see him. Otherwise, if you don't have the money and you have to pay later....the hospital Billing charges $70 per visit. Now, to have an RSD Specialist who knows Dr. Schwartzmann, and has worked with him.....to only charge $25 per visit if it's cash pay....is a shock! The only thing is, he doesn't have any samples of meds in his office. He absolutely refuses to give samples to patients. I don't know if it's because he doesn't want to take the chance of having it around and having someone breaking in his office....or what. So, if I don't get my Medicaid back, and still can go see him, I'm totally screwed when it comes to going and getting my meds, because the Methadone costs $300, the Actiq Suckers costs $10 per sucker and I get 30 of them...another $300....the Skelaxin is another expensive medication along with the Topamax and Symbyax (antidepressant). I won't be able to get half my meds.....and they are main ones that I need to get!!! I'm looking at around $2000 just for a month right now. So, I'm really hoping that his boss will hurry up with ahat paper''Well sleeping pils are kickingin finally...so, i guess that is' bedtime!!!!! Thanks Everyone! it feels good to be able to talk to eeverybody finally! Tonia -------Original Message------- TONIA, I JUST SAW THAT YOU ARE LOSING YOUR BENEFITS. Guest guest
Jai, I've applied for SSI, I'm waiting for my 3rd appeal to go in front of the 3 judges right now. I've contacted my State Congressmen and Senator's and have 1 of the Congressmen helping me with my case thankfully. But, As usual, i'm still waiting. I signed up right after Petey was born in Feb. 2003.... I haven't worked since Oct. 25, 2000, 2 weeks after I first got hurt. I was working Road Construction, and found out it was impossible to stand 10-12 hours a day on the side of the road stopping cars while on crutches. And, my husband is taking over the family farm.....but, he's 3/4 of the way deaf...he did sign up for disability, but was told where he isn't blind also, he didn't qualify! Never knew you had to be both deaf and blind to qualify for it.... But, being a farmer, you only get paid once a year....when the crops come out. And, right now, we'll be lucky if the bankruptcy doesn't take whatever we get this year from what we'd get from the crops. We already have been told that our lawyer will try to keep them from taking it, but he can't guarentee anything. Well, Petey just woke up....so much for my peace and quiet!
