Isn't she pediatric? Or does she see adults too?

It would be great to find out as we are going to be

in the DC area for the month of June and at

Childrens for follow up on some of Joe's other issues.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Ann Marie,

Adrienne is away on vacation this week, but I know she sees Dr Gropman and

she is almost 25 yrs old. I think Adrienne did mention that she does see adults

there on certain days of the month.

I would make the appt. soon though if you are hoping for June. It sounds like

she gets booked pretty quickly.

Any comments on these names?

Hi Beth,

Dr Mark Korson sees adults, as well as children, at New England Medical

Center/The Floating Hospital for Children, but he currently isn't taking new

patients outside of the New England area. Hopefully that will change once he

gets a

new metabolics doc to work with him.

The UMDF provided me with the following names for doctors who

diagnose AND treat adult patients:

Haas, MB, B.Chir, La Jolla, CA

Shoffner, M.D., Georgia

Gropman, M.D., Wash. D.C.

Whiteman, Mayo, Rochester, MN

(Cleveland Clinic won't take my 20 yr. old daughter because of her

age.)

Any comments on these names?

These are all excellent Mito doctors. Dr Shoffner does biopsies but does not

treat. I don't know Dr Whiteman. Dr Haas and Dr Gropman are very well known

and well liked. Unfortunately, Dr Cohen has much too big a case load so he's not

taking any new adults. He's actually a pediatric neurologist but has taken

adult Mito patients in the past.
