Guest guest Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 You sure you want to eat/drink exciting? Try eating/drinking healthy > instead then you'll be able to DO exciting things instead of eating > them. > > Mike in GR MIke this is so true. I never realized that I was in such a hurry to feel a carb or sugar high that I forgot to " taste " my food. It was all about filling up the black hole that was my stomach. Food is for nutrition not recreation. It is the act of socializing over dinner, not the meal that should be the focus. When I was in Las Vegas recently and walked past a buffet line, I was shocked at the size of the customers. They were all at least 200 + pounds. I watched with sadness how they piled their plates sky high on their first go around even though they were free to return with a clean plate. It made me sad because that was ME three years ago. I spent a week eating out in San Francisco. We dined on Italian in North Beach for my fiance's birthday. I ordered handmade raviolis but only ate three. After a week of eating almost anything I wanted, albeit in limited portion size, I returned home half a pound lighter. Why? Moderation and exercise. I love walking around San Francisco. Walking up hills is a thrill because I can! Robyn Quote
