HI Adrienne, I am on pancrelipase FOR my chronic pancreatitis. They often use it for this and I have been on it for years. To my knowledge it won't actually cause pancreatitis. I have never heard of it being used to help motility, but I guess it's worth a shot! Is he thinking of a feeding tube for you? I hope you feel better!!! I've been thinking about you. Guest guest
Adrienne, I want you to know that you are an amazing young woman. Just today, I had a new member of my implant list complaining because she hoped they wouldn't activate her new implant with a body worn processor. A body worn processor looks similar to a small tape player and is connected with wires which hang down from the earpeice. It's not heavy, or uncomfortable. It is obvious and not as attractive as the behind the ear processor. Then I come here and read all you are doing to try to be comfortable and have some quality of life and wish I could tell the other young woman to count her blessings. You vented yesterday and it was long over due. With all you deal with, you have an amazing strength and you will be blessed because of that. Thank you for being who you are. I can answer you about the Protonix. I've tried just about everything for the reflux and that includes Protonix. It did not work for me. The only thing that has had helped me is Prevacid. It is not on my insurance formilary so I have to order it from Canada to get it at a better price but I can't be without it. I can't help you with your other questions but I wish I could. Guest guest
Adrienne, I am on Protonix right now and have had no side effects. I have been on it for awhile. I was on Nexium, but grew tolerant of it after a year or two. It might be worth trying the Protonix. I am sorry that the reflux has gotten worse. Take care and I will be thinking of you. Its pancreatic enzymes- lipase, amylase and protease. My GI dr has given me samples of it. He feels it might help me with my dysmotility- especially with my stomach and small bowel. He says its all we got left to try basically since reglan, zelnorm and erythromyacin dont work or have side effects for me. I forgot to ask him about domperidone unfortunately. He said he wants to try this med before he does anything more drastic (like a feeding tube, etc). I'm also probably going back to a strickly liquid diet. He also switched my nexium to protonix, anyone take that? Havent noticed a difference yet but my reflux has worsened since they dialated my esophogus last week. Luckily I'm back on zofran ODT instead of the pill form so my nausea and vomitng isnt as bad as it had been. The probs I'm having with now really are the swallowing probs and reflux getting worse along with the constipation and severe bloating and pain- this is getting to be so bad its interfering with my sleep alot. I just hope these new meds might help. Of course normal laxitives dont help. I am also worried to go on these pancreatic enzymes because I have had acute pancreatitis several times and Im worried that it might cause it again. Just was wondering if anyone takes these or anything similar and if its helped them? thanks for any info! take care, Adrienne

Guest guest
Adrienne, that is weird that he would try that med for that, it is meant to help digest fat. And stop diarreah.
