I find, quite honestly, that a real light sock drives me out of my mind.. that light touch is too much for me. I wear heavier socks. I am, however, constantly ripping off socks and shoes as I can't bear them anymore. Actually, the longer I have RSD, the better I am at keeping them on for longer periods.. I guess I have gotten used to it. Hi Jo, I know what you mean about the socks and shoes. I did not wear a shoe on my RSD leg for 4 years!! I was always in a cast or some kind of brace because I had a lot of surgeries on my leg. Finally about 8 months ago I wore a shoe for the first time!! I cant wear on for long but at least I can sometimes. I have alot of swelling so sometimes I still cant wear one. I cant stand to have anything touch my leg below the knee. I ALWAYS have to keep it wrapped in an ace wrap. This keeps things from rubbing or brushing up against it. Also it covers the horrific scars I have. With the ace wrap on I am able to put a sock over it. Maybe this method might help someone else too. Hope you are having a great day, Take care, Love Jai
Guest guest
RE.Socks and Shoes, I to no longer can bear wearing shoes. Think it's going on 9 years. But I still have the last ones thinking maybe someday. I can only stand wearing a heavy sock. The lighter ones let in the air that blows around here. Sometimes a fluffly slipper. I have an assortment of slippers depending on the pain for the day. For me I have to keep the feet warm even tho I have really no sensation of heat or cold on them when touched. It's kinda strange what the nervous system does. Hard to explain to people or just my care people. I have been busy making christmas cookies. Watch out here goes the waist line.LOL Between watching the football game and baking today. Go VIKES. I'll try and catch up on some of the news in the group. Did I tell you guys I got my new W/C it runs like a dream. Not much energy in making it go. I like it cause I can elevate my legs now and hopefully keep some of the swelling down. It's a racing blue. I think I'm in a rut with Color. I have a blue theme running all around the apt. Still not smoking it's been 3 months. Kinda getting tired of not smoking. having more cravings. I can see the bennies from not smoking and yet I still want to now. Crazy huh? Well enough rambling. you all take care and i hope you have less painfull days ahead.
