Guest guest
Hi, Has anyone on the list had their colon removed due to constant pseudo obstructions. Have had trouble with constipation all my life but this is longest pseudo obstruction and I have to have something done. The girl on the Gastroparesis list said she had her colon removed and it was the best thing she had ever done. She also mentioned that before she had the surgery she had a test done called Anorectal Manometry which she failed which measures the nerve and muscles in the rectum. Has anyone hear of this test? Have been taking lactose syrup, zelnorm and Miralax 6 or 7 times a day. I take 6-330 mg of Carnitor and 400 to 600 mg of Q-Gel a day. Don't have a Mito diagnosis but have most of the symptoms. Regards, H.
Guest guest
- I'm having gastro tests done at CCF next week for pseudo obstruction. My GI said that the only other thing he could do for me is to remove my colon. I don't think that the answer for me in my personal situation. I'm having anorectal manometry done, defocography, and barium enema. My main GI symptom is constipation from colonic inertia. You might want to read up on Cecostomy's. _www.Cecostomy.com_ (http://www.Cecostomy.com) Hope you get some answers!
