GPDA quick news release: The FDA Petition was pulled today from our site and amended to match the request from the FDA regulation's office. The amendment is minor and does not change the content of the original petition. A docket number is now available and on the web site. People may use this number when corresponding with the FDA. This document also will be used as a position paper and information document and will be mailed out to large insurance providers in various states in order to try and have them fall in -line with the practices of Medicare. Further, GPDA has identified a National non-profit in the US which helps patients fight insurance appeals, disability claims, and they can assist with enteral/parenteral nutrition coverage issues. This information can be found on the same page as the Petition. I have spoken with this group and sent them information about Digestive Motility diseases and Gastroparesis All of this action will have a spill over effect into Canada. As barriers are brought down, it helps to ease access for all. We will continue to try and identify GI specialists in Canada who are willing to get involved in helping to further our actions. The President's report for 2003 is also on our site. GPDA will be in Bethesda April 2 presenting with a scientific team to a trans institute committee at the NIH. Thank you Jeanne
