Guest guest
To all, I get the impression some people felt I cared if someone else has a hysterectomy and if that is WHAT THEY WANT I could care less. If that is your thing and you understand the consequences and have a good doctor then that is fine. For Catholic woman it is an " approved " reason and method of birth control. But if you are young and want kids and are not given options then I get upset. But this was never my problem with the situation. I have a problem with being put through two surgeries for stupidity sake. I did review my Doctor's choice before I let him operate. This guy, my first RE, had won awards for his great job. He had nothing against him I could find. I aim to change this so other women know. I have not put all I found here due to my concern that it might be used against me later but maybe I should be clear 1)the Lupron exceeded the FDA regs and is being investigated (TAP has been accused of kickbacks and has already paid fines for being convicted of this) 2) My incision was in the wrong place 3) My incision to take out a 2cm tumor was ~9in or 18cm 4) I had adhesions so extensive and thick that they had bound my uterus to my bladder. They had to be peeled apart. 5) The RE left behind a tumor that we had a photo of inside the uterus, and MRI of all before surgery and removed a tumor inside the muscles (this one wasn't in the uterine cavity) instead of the large one in the uterus. 6) Before the surgery there was no mention of adenomyosis to me. It was on an early sonogram but never discussed with me. After it was given as the reason the the area was not removed. (I had no adenomyosis) 7) My anemia was not treated aggressively at times until I insisted...the " wait and see method " prevailed until I passed out at times 8) Following the first myo when I confronted his office about test report (it read fibroid still present)that I got on my own and which they did not notify me of the resultsof. they told me instead: a) the test was not read in enough detail it needs to be reread It was not done right and may need to be redone c) and my favorite He wanted " an endometrial spiral done " and it needs to be read for this (this one is a total load of bull but it took a couple of days to figure out what it was and that it isn't a test and I was outright lied to)...(by this time I had the test) and when I called and said I had the test and didn't someone needto talk to me... the nurse said " yes it SAID tumor but you need to dicuss it with the doctor " then set up an appointment a month away, cancelled the appointment, set another one up and two months later he told me " it is about trust. Who do you trust (the test results)...or do you trust the person who held your uterus in his hand " Then he said that we would ontinue the Lupron and Megase and try adding estrogen to see if I could be convinced to have a period and we would reexamine this in Jan. This was Nov in Dec he left the practice. So this RE would have left me with no help capable of removing a tumor and in Jan I would have been looking for a new RE anyway. (I went to the new RE at the end of Oct but went to the first RE to get records and other info per some sage advice) Thank god I trusted the good advice I got here to get all my results, to reask questions and get answers, thank god that the people here had answers that kept me savy enough to realise when I was in trouble, and that people here echoed the voice in my own head that said get a new Doctor. But as I said going through all this was not right. This is not decent treatment and I want better for other women... I have nieces ladies and I have friends with this on the wait and see method and I will never allow this to happen to them. I want each person here and for those who have no voice to have more. So I will continue my routine of writing to Oprah, the news groups, the pad and tampon makers, and spaming assorted boards with facts. And I will get the state of Indiana medical board or the state attorney's office to let me place a warning on the doctors file.
