Guest guest
Dear Alice, I'll keep my prayers going for 4/12...I know it must seem a long time away from now but as you know time will pass quickly. Good Luck! I have had less than satisfactory mappings since I have moved here to Knoxville, TN. Finally talked to an implant center in Atlanta that has more experience with partial inserts and will be doing the 3 hr car ride for mappings with them. The audiologist here had so much trouble mapping me. He would call cochlear they would walk him through the steps and he would still have problems and I never was quite satisfied with my map. The amazing thing is it is 10 yrs since my implant and I am still experiencing new sounds! I can now hear the cat lapping water!!! Guest guest
Vivian, It's been so long since we've heard from you. How are you? I'm so glad you posted. Thanks for the prayers. The hook up is 4/12. How are you doing with your ci? Alice Re: CI and Stella Dear Alice,I will be keeping you and your new hookup in my prayers. When do you get turned on?Vivian
Guest guest
I see you mentioned a partial insertion. Do you have otosclerosis? I don't remember discussing this before. I have had quiet a CI Journey but it also sounds as if you have as well. The audiologist does make all the difference in the world. Good luck in Atlanta. Guest guest
I have malformed cochlear apparently this was not evident until they actually performed the surgery....I am sorry you have had such problems but at the same time to be honest glad that this had no basis in mito illness. ly it was a worry in the back (and sometimes when I forgot to keep it there the front) of my mind. Guest guest
I would like to have the other side done yes but would insurance pay for it? At this point what are isurers doing regarding both sides? I am afraid I have not kept up with that sort of thing. I am really looking forward to working with this implant group in Atlanta. I am sure they are much more up to date and have a great deal more experience to offer me than what I have found here in Knoxville. As you know it does make a very large difference. Guest guest
Have you considered having the other side done? The 24C is excellent.
