Guest guest
Sue, Doctors put all sorts of things into peoples bodies, replacement hips, pacemakers. When surgeons perform myomectomies or hysterectomies they put quite a bit of suturing materials into our bodies, sometimes adhesion barriers, clips. The arteries don't stay completely blocked. I had my UFE in 2000 and have been going back to the center for an MRI every year. The IR uses contrast dye so he can see the vessels and how well the uterus is perfused. My uterine arteries have completely re-canalised (if that is the right English word?). Good luck with your further research. I recommend you read Carla's book and the Goodwin/Broder books about fibroids, they have been mentioned on this list many times. Obviously as a health care professional it will all be easier for you to understand than us non-medical people.
