Guest guest
I had a hysterectomy.. horizontal bikini cut.. open.. in 1985.. I would say that the pain of wls is far more severe. I was able to take care of my two toddlers within a few weeks time.. I wasnt able to lift them as they both weighed over 20 pounds for 6 weeks. Guest guest
I had it done open, 1981. I was up and running the next day, though still hospitalized for several. I went back to work ahead of sched, because I was bored. It was 100 times easier than my WLS, probably because the incision followed a more natural lline? Guest guest
Wow. That's interestng that you said some things are more intesne after hystie. And my experience was just the opposite. Some thngs that hd not EXISTED prior to hystie suddenly became a part of my life after. Wow. I felt like a lead ballon had set me free.. That was total, though. My mom & gma had 2 hysties each, 5 yrs apart. My doc & I agreed that one would be just fine for me., pain > had hysterectomy open in 1979 during the Dark Ages when I was in my early > 30s. Guest guest
I've read that some people with mito don't experience muscle pain while others do. My muscle pain has been increasing and has almost become intolerable. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner, but my husband has a TENS unit and today I decided to borrow that to see if it helped. Just an FYI - it's really made a significant difference. Anybody else have luck with using a device to help with pain? Maggie
Guest guest
Maggie, glad you had relief from the TENS unit. I've had increased pain with TENS. I used it for severe back pain and it intensified the spasms greatly. Instead of my brain ignoring the signal it focused in on it even more ! Ultimately, the only things that have helped my pain are good nutrition / hydration, daily meditation / relaxation and exercise which has included yoga type stretching. I'm not pain free, but my muscles are less fatigued and crampy. Hope you continue to find relief bug
