Hi,

I have to have emergency dental work for a tooth that broke off at the gumline. Not sure what I will have to have done.

I am anticipating having a difficult time with it. First of all I will have to sit in the chair for hours, as they will have to squeeze me in. I know it will be very stressful, as I hate the dentist. Then I am concerned about possible use of anesthesia or follow up medication.

I am also concerned that my tooth had a very large mercury filling and this could introduce mercury into my system. I took some activated charcoal after the tooth broke off, in case I swallowed some. I thought I read somewhere that mercury toxicity is very bad for mitochondrial problems especially.

Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions to keep the impact to a minimum?

Thanks,

Adam

Adam I don't envy you. Sounds extremely painful ! I guess my

recommendation would be that you take a list of medications with

you...also a copy of Dr. Cohen's list of anesthetics and medications

to avoid (listed under files). Other than that, best of luck :)
