Fibroid near the skins' surface?

Okay, this may sound really strange, but I have to ask if anyone has

ever experienced anything like this...

I have a large fibroid, 6.5 cm on my left side, right under my

stomach. I constantly " hold " that part of my stomach, kinda looking

like " Al Bundy " . Lastnight and today I noticed it aching even more,

I looked at in the mirror up close and I noticed it was really red,

like a bruise and it's painful. Could a fibroid be so close to the

surface of the skin? I have a gyn appointment on Tuesday, I tried to

get one sooner, but to no avail. I may go to the emergency room if

it keeps hurting. I began a new job today and of course I have no

leave or insurance until at least March. I've rec'd my two lifetime

injections of Lupron Depot, I felt some relief and now all I get is

hot flashes. If anyone has had a fibroid so close to the surface of

the skin please talk to me!!!

Hi Chrissy,

With my largest fibroid, I'm not sure how close to the surface it

is, but I can feel the outline and it sticks far enough out of my

abdomen that I can actually place the palm of my hand around it.

Today, it's hurting and aching......which it does from time to time.
