Guest guest
, You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Could Laurie be at the nursing home or on the way? She indicated to me that she was going to be there this weekend. Hugs! Alice & Laurie's family If any of you are so inclined, prayers and good thoughts for our family are really needed right now. Our Mom is in a nursing home and had a stroke this morning. She can't even open her eyes and the only response they have gotten from her is a weak squeeze of her right hand. Also, our brother Al was admitted to the hospital yesterday for massive blood transfusions. From what my sister-in-law was able to tell me, he is down to about only 1 1/2 units of blood in his body and they can't find the source of bleeding. So, now we can't tell my Mom about our brother and can't tell our brother about our Mom. My brother would try to rip out the line and try to get to my Mom we are afraid. That is just the way he is. The only reason we even know about our brother is because his wife told me when I tried to reach him to let him know about our Mom. He didn't want anyone to know.Sorry to ramble on, I guess I am a little stressed right now. I haven't been able to reach Laurie either, and I pray I get to talk to her before she reads about things here. Thanks everyone, you are a great great group of friends and we are very lucky to have you all in our lives.Medical advice, information, opinions, data and statements contained herein are not necessarily those of the list moderators. Guest guest
Update on family: My mom has movement in her right side and seems very aware of us being there. She was able to open her eyes briefly on command and was even trying to swallow on command. This was just before and I left. I'll update as I can. I was getting groceries when couldn't get me. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Sat, 13 Mar 2004 09:15:19 -0700 > To: > > Subject: Re: & Laurie's family > > , > > You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
Sounds like a good sign, Laurie. It can be a slow process, but I hope she continues to recover back to her normal self. Guest guest
and Laurie I'm so sorry about your family. All my prayers are headed your way ! Wish there was more I could do for you. I can't imagine how you're able to keep the two from knowing...what a horrible situation to be in. Anyway, I'll pray as hard as I can for you both and hope that things get better soon.
