Question about resting pulse rate?

I tried to post this two times. Hopefully it will go through this

time LOL.

Does anyone know what the proper resting pulse rate should be? Does

it vary for everyone?

Around 70 to 80, but no higher, OR too much lower than that. Below about

(loosely) 65, we're talking hypothyroid here. Mine was staying as low as 58

when undertreated and on levoxyl. It was horrible. I felt like the blood

wasn't even moving through my body, and I was right, it wasn't. I was more

likely to have a heart attack THAT way, from slow moving blood forming a

clot to go straight to my heart, than I was to have one from fast moving

blood from a slightly fast pulse. Mine always averages 72, right on the

money. If it deviates much from that, I know there's a problem.

When I was hypo it was 54 to 60. I remember going to my doc one time. I was

taking beta blockers and antithyroid drug. Nurse checked my pulse and said it is

54. The doc walked in and I asked him if that was a low pulse he said " WELL, WE

DON'T WANT IT TO GET ANY LOWER THAN THAT " I was hypo. Why didn't the doctor

investigate it farther? Because he is dumb.
