Hey Kris,

No problem. Since your a newbie here (I was last week haha!) I

thought I'd tell you as much as I know. Do you know if fibroids run

in your family? Every female in my family has them. There are a few

books that you can take out at the library or buy on the topic that

will calm your nerves a bit...well it did mine. One is

called " Fibroids: The Complete Guide to Taking Charge to your

physical, emotional and sexual being " -by Johanna Skilling. The

other by the same author is called " First Year Fibroids: An Essential

Guide to the Newly Diagnosed " .

You should find out what type of fibroid you have. My doctor put me

on depo provera and two days ago I got her on the phone and gave her

the 3rd degree regarding my research and findings b/i'm on that

medication. My advice, the more educated you are on the topic the

better off you'll be,,the more questions you can ask your doctor.I

love my GYN to death but i had to remind myself that dr's are just

people and they can be wrong regarding the ways to go about treatment.

I don't have kids, i'm not married, i'm not even in a relationship

and she told me that i had 18 months to have a child. Once I heard

that I cried then after all the reading and speaking w/the women on

this board, I realized there's nothing to cry about.... I'm going to

get a second opinion.

Just be sure you do what feels right for you and not what seems to be

convenient for your doctor. Think Positive!

Happy Days!!!!
