Guest guest
Thanks for the wise words...I am most upset about the fact that tere is a drug out there that could potentially help avoid thousands of fibroid related surgeries each year and it is being kept from us for politacal reasons, while the reason that is controversial is abortion, and it's used for that purpose evryday!!!!How did this occur?? Does anyone know?
Guest guest
I was diagnosed with fibroids on Dec. 28th. I am 44 years old, and have one child. I have fibroids the size of a five-month fetus. I bleed every day, have heavy periods, and anemia. I told myself that hysterectomy was not an option. I have been interested in natural health and healing since I was a teenager. I talked to my dear friend who is an amazing acupunturist and healer, and he said that Chinese medicine could help small fibroids, but surgery is recommended for large ones. Not the answer I'd hoped for. I have been doing a lot of research, and have decided to have a hysterectomy, keeping my ovaries. I want to be free of fibroids forever. It will be a great challenge to face my fear of surgery, and to put my trust in the doctors and hospital. I have a lot going for me. I have generally good health, good health insurance, and a wonderful, supportive husband. I don't know how I'll be able to leave my job teaching kindergarten for up to six weeks. I know that I will be glad to get through this. I'll try to have courage, a good attitude and a sense of humor. Having a hysterectomy was unthinkable, but now it feels like the best option. I don't want my life to be ruled by fibroids. The way you choose is the way for you. in The Dalles
Guest guest
, since you don't really want a hysterectomy why don't you have a myomectomy? At 44 the chance of recurrence is not great since you don't have that long until menopause. You may have to travel to find a doctor to do a myo. You should also consider UAE. OHSU in Portland has several interventional radiologists performing UAE. Here is a link to their website: http://www.ohsu.edu/dotter- fibroid/ Having a hysterectomy may cure you of your fibroid problems, but could possibly create new problems, even if you keep you ovaries. Women who have had hysterectomies have a higher rate of heart disease, depression and sexual dysfunction (regardless of certain " studies " you may have read about) So please, before you take this final step, do all the research that you can. > I was diagnosed with fibroids on Dec. 28th. Guest guest
Also known as RU-486 - the " abortion drug " , hence the political problems with approving it for ANYTHING > > Thanks for the wise words...I am most upset about > > the fact that tere is a drug out there that could > > potentially help avoid thousands of fibroid related > > surgeries each year and it is being kept from us for > > politacal reasons, while the reason that is > > controversial is abortion, and it's used for that > > purpose evryday!!!!How did this occur?? > > Does anyone know? > > > >
